Kathleen Waltz Appears In The Ranks Of Stanford Who's Who
Stanford Who's Who welcomes Kathleen Waltz to the ranks of leading professionals as a result of her exceptional effort in the Arts.

LEAGUE CITY, TX, August 10, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stanford Who's Who welcomes Kathleen Waltz to the ranks of leading professionals as a result of her exceptional effort in the Arts. As Founder and Director of the Houston International Ballet Academy, as well as throughout her brilliant professional career, Kathleen has consistently demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the best.

Established in 2004, the Houston International Ballet Academy is a private classical ballet school that is dedicated solely to the art of classical ballet and theater training. They offer classes at all levels throughout the year. The Academy's curriculum includes a Children's Program, Youth Program, and Pre-Professional Program.

Students of the Academy are trained in the Vaganova technique, method, syllabus, and protocol by Ms. Waltz. This is the technique of the Kirov and Bolshoi Ballet Academies in Russia and is the foremost technique in classical ballet training. Current and former students of the Academy have been accepted and received scholarships into noted ballet programs such as; the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C.; Washington Ballet School; American Ballet Theater Academy, Joffrey Ballet School; Gelsey Kirkland's Intensive Program, Colorado Ballet and the University of Utah.

Kathleen began her professional career at the age of 17 with a guest performance at San Antonio Ballet in La Sylphide with Frank Augustyn and Mary Jago. From there she received a contract from the Nevada Dance Theatre under the directorship of Vasili Sulich. Kathleen danced with the Boston Ballet and Rudolf Nureveyev in the production of La Sylphide performed at the Uris Theatre in New York. In 1980, she joined the Basel Ballet under Heinz Speorli and spent the next few seasons there until retiring from injury.
