Hip Hop Kidz 20th Anniversary Reunion Showcase, Featuring TV Actress Cassie Scerbo and Brandon Bryant
Hip Hop Kidz celebrated its 20th anniversary with a comprehensive reunion showcase
PEMBROKE PINES, FL, June 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The dance organization has trained thousands of kids in South Florida and many have gone on to become celebrities in the performing arts and dance world. Cassie Scerbo and Brandon Bryant were on hand for the festivities.
Nationally recognized Hip Hop Kidz dance program hosted its end of year showcase celebrating the company's 20th anniversary. In its 20 year history, Hip Hop Kidz has been an institution in South Florida's tri-county area and has trained thousands of kids. Miami's Brandon Bryant, who became a runner-up in So You Think You Can Dance 2009, performed at the showcase. Bryant was with Hip Hop Kidz for 8 years. Among the other returnees were Coral Springs resident, actress, Cassie Scerbo currently starring in Make It or Break It on the ABC Family Network and star of the upcoming movie, Team Spirit.
The common thread binding all the graduates from Hip Hop Kidz is their ability to apply the discipline and self-confidence that they acquired with their dancing and continue to utilize it in their future endeavors.
"Each one of these kids discovered their uniqueness during a critical point in their lives, and I am so proud to see them come back and celebrate this important milestone," says Suzy Stone, Hip Hop Kidz director and founder.
Brandon Bryant took time off from his busy schedule to fly in and be with his former dance troop. He stayed on to conduct a workshop with the Hip Hop Kidz performance level dancers with over 100 students in attendance. Cassie Scerbo flew back to California to do a film after the showcase. Other company alumni included Miami residents, Tommy Heffernan, a University of North Carolina middle linebacker, Chad Thayer a West Point graduate, medical students and a wide variety of professionals.
Hip Hop Kidz is planning an expansion soon to offer licenses to qualified dance instructors throughout the country. Instructors will learn the methods of Hip Hop Kidz from Ms. Stone and her organization.
"Our program is tried and true, and we have decided to offer it to the rest of the country as an after-school activity," says Stone. "It's something we have talked about for years and now, with so many methods of learning and communicating available via internet, we have designed a complete business package to be offered on-line along with traveling workshops."
