Michael Blake Showcases Professional Brand through Cambridge Who's Who
Michael Blake received a master of fine arts in dance from Purchase College
NEW YORK, NY, June 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael Blake, part-time lecturer for Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey, faculty of HB Studio, New York City, faculty at Ballet Hispanico, New York City, and movement specialist (Body By Blake), New York City, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education, movement for actors, and modern dance.
At Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and HB Studio, New York City, Mr. Blake is a Movement for Actors instructor. His class consists of Pilates-based core¬strengthening exercises, a standing dance warm up that emphasizes flexibility, coordination, stretch, and overall physical awareness. His movement class draws from Michael Chekhov, Rudolph Laban, and the Alexander concepts pertaining to Movement for Actors. At Ballet Hispanico, Mr. Blake has designed a dance introduction course for boys ages 8-12. He also teaches Limon technique from the beginner level to advanced. Body By Blake is a comprehensive physical program designed to empower through the physical. Previously, Mr. Blake danced in the company's of Jose Limon, Murray Louis, and Donald Byrd. He attributes his success to the support and inspiration he received from his mother, who was in show business.
In 2003, Mr. Blake received a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Purchase College. An amFAR, and Democratic Party supporter, he is affiliated with the Actors' Equity Association. He is the youngest member of PARADIGM, a dance company that features modern dance legends over 50 years old. In the future, Mr. Blake hopes to continue dancing and writing articles; he would also like to publish his novels.
