The Nutcracker by the Moscow City Ballet will arrive at Truro's Hall for Cornwall on November 18th.

The Moscow City Ballet is due to bring its latest version of the Tchaikovsky production to the Hall for Cornwall in Truro between Thursday November 18th and Saturday November 20th.

Described by the venue as "an outstanding demonstration of the precision, artistry and sheer grace" of the ballet company, the show should appeal to ballet fans of all ages.

One of Tchaikovsky's three much-loved ballets, The Nutcracker was first performed in 1892 and has been a festive fixture in concert halls around the world for many years.

The ballet is based on a short story by ETA Hoffmann called The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, in which young Clara's favourite Christmas toy comes alive to help her defeat the evil rodent figure of the title.
