LateRooms.com - Watch a World Record Attempt at Thrill the World in Perth
A flash mob will take to Forrest Place in Perth next month as part of an attempt to smash a world record.
PERTH, AUSTRALIA, September 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Travellers heading to Forrest Place during their stay in Perth hotels towards the end of next month may be lucky enough to witness part of a world record attempt.
The Western Australian city will be part of a worldwide flash mob of people dancing simultaneously to Michael Jackson's hit Thriller, with the event set to take place on October 23rd 2010.
On October 24th 2009, the Record Holders Republic recognised that 22,596 people in 264 cities across 33 countries were re-enacting the classic music video at once, more than five times higher than the previous highest ever total.
While that may have been an impressive result, the organisers of the Perth event - entitled Thrill the World - will no doubt be hoping to surpass that amount this year.
They have stressed that this is far more than an opportunity for thousands of people to dress up as the iconic pop star, explaining: "It is a very exciting, fun and fulfilling event, bringing people of all ages, physical abilities and backgrounds together to share the love of dancing and raising funds for charity."
People staying in one of the 5 star hotels Perth has available who are keen to watch the record attempt should get down to Forrest Place at 18:45 local time.
For more information on this event, visit the Thrill the World website or contact the organisers on (+61) 4 0719 0780.
LateRooms.com recommends a variety of Perth accommodation, including the Aarons Hotel Perth.
