AsiaRooms.com - Enjoy the Bali Arts Festival During a Stay in Ubud
One of the highlights of the Bali Arts Festival is the opening procession.
BALI, INDONESIA, May 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People who have booked Ubud hotels for next month should certainly consider making the short journey to the Bali Arts Festival.
Running for one month from June 12th to July 10th, the Bali Arts Festival promises to be a fusion of creativity.
According to What's On When, the opening procession for the event is "spectacular" and worth watching.
The parade is made up of a range of Balinese musical groups, each playing their own style of music, as well as a host of dancers, floats and people wearing brightly coloured costumes and over-sized headdresses.
Anyone who is not able to travel Denpasar City - where the festival is held - for the opening events will still find plenty to see if they attend the festival at a later date.
There are daily performances of traditional Balinese dancing and music, in addition to handicraft exhibitions and cultural activities.
An amphitheatre that can hold up to 6,000 spectators is where many of the shows are staged, while a host of smaller venues put on entertainment throughout the duration of the festival.
In July, a closing ceremony that often incorporates an epic Balinese dance will be put on for visitors to the island to enjoy.
