Dancers and spectators alike could be interested to learn about the Czech Dance Platform taking place in Prague in April.

The annual Czech Dance Platform will be taking place in the city between April 16th and 20th and promises to be an energetic and spectacular festival.

Performances will be held at a number of venues around the Czech capital, including the Theater Ponec, Archa and Studio @ ALT.

During its five-day run, audiences will be treated to a host of artists offering the best from the Czech contemporary dance movement and theatre.

The festival offers more than just an opportunity to see some spectacular shows though, with audiences encouraged to get involved with the judging for the event's Audience Award.

Taking the top prize is not only an honour, but usually entitles the winner to half the money earned from ticket sales at one of the venues used throughout the event.

A full programme of shows is due to be published by the end of this month and tickets will go on sale following its announcement.

They will be available online as well as through the individual venues.

This will be the 16th year that the festival has been held in Prague and promises renowned European composers showcasing their talents alongside the dancers.
