Classical Music on the bill at the Prague Winter Festival
The Prague Winter Festival offers visitors a mix of classical music, opera and ballet.
PRAGUE, December 04, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Prague Winter Festival promises to be a classical extravaganza featuring stunning operatic and ballet performances over its five-day run.
Opening on January 2nd 2010 at Prague's stunning Theatre of the Estates, the musical magic will start in style with a rendition of Mozart's Don Giovanni.
With a comprehensive programme of both evening and daytime performances, there is bound to be something to entertain anyone staying in hotels in Prague throughout the week.
Tickets start from EUR20 (GBP18) and in addition to the theatre shows, there are also city tours that take in Prague's stunning architecture, either by foot or by coach for those who don't fancy getting cold.
The final day of the festival on January 6th will culminate in a performance of Tosca, composed by Puccini, from the Czech Republic's State Opera.
Now in its 38th year, this festival of classical music is a must-see event for anyone who enjoys the work of some of the greatest composers.
Venues to host some of the shows include the Theatre of the Estates - described as one of the most beautiful historic buildings in Europe - and the Municipal House, which fuses a collection of different architectural styles from Czech Art Nouveau to Neo-Baroque.
