TORRANCE, CA, November 05, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- There are many things that turn a city into a place of distinction. In the Arts, one of the primary points of pride is an exemplary holiday Nutcracker production. That's exactly what South Bay Ballet delivers annually at the Marsee Auditorium at El Camino College Center for the Arts! This year's production sparkles with dazzling distinction as it marks the opening of South Bay Ballet's 30th Anniversary Season!

South Bay Ballet's Nutcracker takes this local company to the grandest place as it rivals the finest American performances of this holiday spectacular. Blessed with Diane Lauridsen's artistic direction, this massive physical production boasts stunning sets by Jenny Tomich, vibrant costumes, dramatic lighting, and impressive special effects, along with the brilliant score of Peter Tchaikovsky - making it a big city affair.

"There is hardly a better introduction to the Arts for youngsters than South Bay Ballet's Nutcracker. You can see them in the audience, rapt and grinning, sitting next to their parents, and all dressed-up in their holiday outfits," shares Catherine Jacobson, president of South Bay Ballet. "But that doesn't mean there isn't anything for the grown-ups! The grand score and stunning dancing make this Nutcracker production a winning holiday triumph for all."
